My recent experience at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Birmingham/Bessemer, as we welcomed the New Year, was a blend of charm and challenges. The hotel's strategic location, just minutes from Birmingham International Airport, made it convenient for our travels. While our room offered comfortable bedding and a well-placed TV, it bore a dated décor that could benefit from a design overhaul. The highlight of our stay was the warm and helpful staff, who handled our reservation hiccup with grace. We appreciated the complimentary hot breakfast and the serene hot tub, perfect for relaxing after long days filled with theatre and music exploration. The housekeeping staff's oversight in daily room cleaning was a disappointing note in our experience. The energy of the Bessemer area, combined with the hotel’s amenities like free WiFi and the indoor pool, offer a potential for a more enjoyable stay on our future visits. While this trip may not have been flawless, it certainly sparked a sense of adventure, and I wouldn’t shy away from giving it another chance.
